1. Visit Sulphur Springs, the Caribbean’s Only Drive-In Volcano
No St. Lucia vacation is complete without a visit to Sulphur Springs, one of the island’s most famous attractions. Known as the Caribbean’s only drive-in volcano, this geothermal site allows you to get close to bubbling mud pools, steaming vents, and volcanic landscapes.
Afterwards, you can treat yourself to a relaxing mud bath in the mineral-rich hot springs. You can cover yourself in the warm volcanic mud before rinsing off in the natural pools. This St. Lucia attraction is known to be nature’s spa, even believed to offer healing benefits! Sulphur Springs is, by far, one of the most unforgettable things to do in Soufrière.
Pro tip: Be sure to wear a dark swimsuit when you take a dip in the St. Lucia mud springs because the mud stains!
Looking to make a day out of this? I highly recommend booking either the Land and Sea Tour or the All-Inclusive Tour. These tours include photo stops of the Pitons, an opportunity for you to soak in the Sulfur Springs, and give you time to enjoy the powerful Toraille Waterfall! If you’re looking to explore the Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens, the All-Inclusive Tour makes a stop there.

2. Hike the Tet Paul Nature Trail for Incredible Piton Views
If you’re looking for one of the most rewarding things to do in St. Lucia, the Tet Paul Nature Trail should be at the top of your to-do list. Commonly referred to as the “Stairway to Heaven,” this short, scenic trail offers some of the best panoramic views of both Gros Piton and Petit Piton. On clear days, you might even get to see the nearby islands of Martinique and St. Vincent.
This St. Lucia hike is relatively easy and can typically be completed in about 45 minutes. This makes it perfect for anyone who isn’t a seasoned hiker. It’s perfect for families, photographers, and anyone who wants to see epic views of the Pitons.
Pro tip: If you’re planning to do this hike when you visit St. Lucia, be sure to visit early for cool temperatures, fewer crowds, and clearer views of the Pitons.
Ready to experience these epic views? I highly recommend booking the Tet Paul Nature Trail Hiking and Beach Tour or the Tet Paul Nature Trail Hike & Waterfall Tour.

3. Explore Diamond Falls and Botanical Gardens
If you’re looking for a peaceful nature escape, spend a few hours wandering through the Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens. This lush tropical paradise is one of the most breathtaking things to do in Soufrière. It offers a tranquil escape from the more adventurous attractions in St. Lucia.
The gardens offer a variety of tropical plants, which include hibiscus, ginger lilies, and fruit trees native to the Caribbean. There are signs throughout that tell you more about the plants and history.
The star of the show is Diamond Falls, a stunning St. Lucia waterfall that’s known for its ever-changing colors. Thanks to the volcanic minerals in the area, the waterfall can display shades of yellow, orange, green, and black. As a lover of waterfalls, this is one of my favorite St. Lucia attractions! The short walk to the falls is accessible to all ages and offers scenic views!
Pro tip: Don’t forget your phone! This botanical garden is one of the most photo-worthy spots in St. Lucia!

4. Go on a St. Lucia Ziplining Adventure
If you’re looking for adventurous things to do in St. Lucia, then this excursion is for you. There’s nothing more breathtaking — and adrenaline-inducing — than ziplining through the canopy of the south St. Lucia rainforest. It’s the kind of experience that will make you fall in love with south St. Lucia.
Pro tip: Ziplining gets booked fast, especially during busy times. Book your St. Lucia ziplining adventure now!

5. Go Snorkeling at Anse Chastanet
If you’re searching for one of the most memorable things to do in Soufrière, try snorkeling at Anse Chastanet. Often recognized as one of the best spots for St. Lucia snorkeling, this protected bay offers crystal-clear waters a thriving coral reef just off the shore.
Even if you’re not into snorkeling, Anse Chastanet is one of the most beautiful St. Lucia beaches! Surrounded by lush green hills and featuring palm trees, it’s the perfect spot for a tropical escape.
Pro tip: Plan your St. Lucia snorkeling adventure for the morning hours when visibility is clearer, and the waters are calmer!
Book your all-day tour here to experience snorkeling at Anse Chasanet and Jalousie Beach. If you’re looking to book a private snorkeling tour, secure your spot here.

6. Have a Beachfront Lunch at the Jungle Grill
After a morning of hiking, snorkeling, or exploring, one of the most laid-back things to do in St. Lucia is having lunch at the Jungle Grill. Hidden along the beautiful shores of Anse Mamin beach, this St. Lucia restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy a meal while taking in the island’s natural beauty.
This beachfront eatery is famous for its burgers, fresh fish sandwiches, tacos, and tropical drinks. The open-air atmosphere, palm trees, and ocean views make it one of the best Soufrière restaurants. It’s the perfect blend of beautiful scenery, great food, and tropical escape!
Pro tip: Plan your visit around lunchtime after your St. Lucia snorkeling adventure at Anse Chastanet, which is just a short walk away!

7. Make Your Own Chocolate at Rabot Estate
If you’re a chocolate lover, this is one St. Lucia attraction you won’t want to miss out on. At Rabot Estate, which is home to Hotel Chocolat, you can take part in a hands-on tree-to-bar chocolate-making experience!
This is one of the best things to do in Soufrière if you want to take part in a fun and surprisingly educational activity. You’ll get to roast, crack, and grind cacao nibs before mixing and molding your own chocolate bar. One of the best parts is you’ll get to learn more about chocolate-making, which is one of St. Lucia’s most important agricultural traditions!
Pro tip: Be sure to book your Tree-to-Bar experience in advance, especially during peak St. Lucia travel season when spaces sell out quickly!

8. Visit the Toraille Waterfall
After spending the day exploring Soufrière, there’s no better way to cool off than by visiting Toraille Waterfall. This natural St. Lucia attraction is a must-see for waterfall lovers. The 50-foot waterfall cascades into a freshwater pool below.
This St. Lucia waterfall is more accessible than some of the others on the island. A short walk through vibrant tropical plants and flowers leads to the falls. Stepping beneath the cascade itself is both refreshing and invigorating! It’s known as the perfect place for a “natural massage.”
This is one of the best things to do in St. Lucia for nature lovers. Whether you want to cool off after hiking the Tet Paul Nature Trail or simply want a relaxing escape in nature, Toraille Waterfall is a great place to visit in St. Lucia!
Pro tip: Be sure to wear a swimsuit and pack water shoes if you plan to stand directly under the falls! The rocks can get slippery, and you’ll be sure to get wet!

9. Visit the New Jerusalem Mineral Baths
If you’re looking for a lesser-known St. Lucia attraction, this hidden gem is perfect! The New Jerusalem Mineral Baths are one of my absolute favorite things to do in Soufrière! It offers a more intimate experience than the crowded Sulphur Springs.
New Jerusalem is home to some of the best St. Lucia hot springs! It’s designed for soaking in the springs, which are surrounded by a lush rainforest and tropical vegetation.
Pro tip: Bring cash (it’s $4-8 for the entry free), wear a swimsuit, and bring a towel.

10. Take a Water Taxi to Sugar Beach
If you’re looking for a scenic, stress-free way to visit Sugar Beach, then look no further than taking a water taxi. Nestled between the iconic Pitons, Sugar Beach is famous for its powdery sand and crystal clear water. Reaching it by car is difficult because the road to get there is a steep, winding descent, which can be challenging for some drivers.
Sugar Beach may be one of the prettiest St. Lucia beaches — and one of the best things to do in St. Lucia. The contrast between the bright white sand and the emerald-green mountains makes it one of the most picturesque spots on the entire island!
For travelers staying in Soufrière, a water taxi is also a whole experience and one of the most unforgettable ways to visit the beach. Whether you’re heading there for swimming, sunbathing, or going on a St. Lucia snorkeling adventure, this is one of the island’s attractions you won’t want to miss out on!
