Soaring through the treetops with the wind rushing past me and a stunning view of the national forest below my feet is hands-down one of the most thrilling things I’ve done while visiting St. Lucia. It’s the kind of experience that makes you fall in love with the beauty of south St. Lucia.
When I started researching things to do in St. Lucia for adventure lovers, ziplining kept popping up. I knew that I was ready for a St. Lucia ziplining adventure, so I booked the Ultimate 3 Package. I can honestly say that ziplining is one of the most unforgettable St. Lucia attractions I’ve ever experienced.

Where to Go Ziplining in St. Lucia
The St. Lucia ziplining experience takes place inside the Castries Waterworks Reserve, a national forest that was originally declared in 1916. This lush rainforest is one of the best places for outdoor adventures in St. Lucia. Fun fact: it was gifted to Queen Elizabeth in 2016 as part of the Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy initiative, making it one of the more historically significant rainforests in the Caribbean. Pretty cool to think you’re flying through a piece of history when you zipline in St. Lucia!
The drive up to the rainforest is half the fun of this St. Lucia attraction! You’ll wind your way along scenic mountain roads, catching glimpses of village life and rural St. Lucia along the way. By the time you arrive in Babonneau, you’ll already feel like you’ve stepped into a completely different world from the coast. Everything is greener and quieter. And the air has that cool, misty rainforest feel, which makes it perfect for ziplining in St. Lucia!

The Ultimate St. Lucia Ziplining and Rainforest Adventure
For my St. Lucia ziplining adventure, I booked the Ultimate 3 Package: Aerial Tram, Zipline, and Hiking — and if you want to do the same tour I did, you can reserve your spot here. This three-in-one combo is designed for travelers who want the full adventurous St. Lucia excursion experience when they visit the rainforest.
Here’s what’s included in this package:
– Aerial tram ride through the rainforest canopy
– Canopy zipline course featuring 9 platforms and 8 lines
– Guided nature trail hike with a naturalist guide
When you go on this St. Lucia adventure, you’ll glide above the canopy on an aerial tram, fly through the treetops on a zipline course, and explore the rainforest floor with a knowledgeable naturalist guide. It’s the perfect mix of relaxation, adrenaline, and education — all in one day. If you’re searching for adventurous things to do in St. Lucia, this ziplining excursion is easily one of the most unforgettable experiences on the island.

The Perfect Start to Our St. Lucia Zipline Adventure
Once we arrived at Castries Waterworks Reserve for our St. Lucia zipline adventure, the day kicked off with a safety briefing. It was followed by a scenic St. Lucia aerial tram ride, which was such an amazing way to start the day! If you’ve ever been on a tram or gondola before, you know it’s a slow, peaceful ride that gives you a chance to take in your surroundings instead of zooming right past them. We climbed gently up into the canopy while our tour guide pointed out plants, birds, and hidden details we never would have noticed on our own.
The views were incredible, which is part of why this St. Lucia rainforest excursion was such an unforgettable experience. Endless layers of green stretched in every direction, with mist hanging low between the trees and the occasional flash of color from a hummingbird darting through the canopy. Everywhere you looked, you could see waterfalls flowing through the rainforest. It was such a surreal experience and one of the most beautiful nature adventures in St. Lucia. The tram ride was the perfect way to ease into the day before the adrenaline rush of St. Lucia ziplining hit!

Ziplining in St. Lucia: Soaring Through the Canopy
This zipline course in St. Lucia is made up of 9 platforms and 8 lines, and every single one offers something different. Some of the lines are short and faster, while others are long and slow enough to let you really soak up the rainforest views as you fly across it. The St. Lucia zipline guides were incredible. They were knowledgeable, fun, and genuinely focused on safety from start to finish. I felt taken care of the entire time, even at the very first platform where my nerves were definitely kicking in.
Ziplining in St. Lucia is such an indescribable experience. Flying through the trees with the wind rushing past you and the rainforest sprawled out beneath you is the kind of feeling that’s hard to put into words. You feel weightless. You feel free. And you start to understand why ziplining is on so many lists of the best things to do in St. Lucia for thrill seekers.

This St. Lucia attraction is perfect for nature lovers! There are so many opportunities to spot wildlife. From tarantulas to birds, you never know what you might get lucky enough to see during your adventure!
After our St. Lucia ziplining experience was over, we wrapped up the day with a guided rainforest hike. Our naturalist guide pointed out medicinal plants and native birds and shared stories about the ecosystem and history of the property. It was the perfect way to come back down to earth after the adrenaline rush before making our way back to the aerial tram.
By the end of this St. Lucia excursion, I had a much deeper appreciation for the rainforest I had just been flying through.
I didn’t have time to explore the waterways because it was raining. There’s also a store where you can buy souvenirs, food, and souvenir photos after your adventure is over!

What to Know Before You Zipline in St. Lucia
Wondering how you can prepare for your St. Lucia ziplining adventure? If you’re thinking about booking a zipline tour in St. Lucia, here are a few helpful things you should know before you go:
- Closed-toe shoes are required. Sneakers or hiking shoes are perfect. Sandals and flip-flops will not be permitted on the course, so be sure to leave them at your St. Lucia resort.
- Pack sunscreen, water, and a phone or camera for photos. Bring a small bag or backpack to store these items in.
- Wear a light, water-resistant layer. The rainforest is at a higher elevation, so it can get a lot cooler and mistier than St. Lucia beaches. You can get damp depending on the weather conditions that day.
- Be sure to book your excursion ahead of time. Ziplining in St. Lucia is very popular, so these tours tend to fill up fast — especially during peak season (December-April). You can reserve your spot by booking here.
- Plan for about five hours if you’re booking the Ultimate 3. This St. Lucia excursion isn’t fast. Be sure to block off the day so you’re not rushing on or off the mountain.
- You don’t need experience. This St. Lucia ziplining course is beginner-friendly, and the guides walk you through everything you need to know. If you’ve never ziplined before, this is a great place to start!

Some experiences just leave a mark. This was one of them.
